Scotland open their 2026 Guinness Six Nations campaign on Saturday against Italy in Rome and Gregor Townsend will name his team on Thursday.
There were injury concerns around Jack Dempsey (foot), Jamie Dobie (knee), Dave Cherry (calf) and Ewan Ashman (neck) but all are now on the mend.
Here's what I think the starting XV will look like as the Scots look to make a winning start in the championship for the sixth year in a row.

9. Ben White
Toulon scrum-half likely to resume his halfback partnership with Russell after missing the Argentina match in the autumn through illness. | SNS Group / SRU

10. Finn Russell
Scotland's playmaker about to embark on his 12th Six Nations campaign and comes into the championship on the back of another successful campaign with Bath. | SNS Group / SRU

11. Kyle Steyn
Glasgow captain is at the top of his game and likely to start ahead of Duhan van der Merwe on left wing. Steyn's aerial strength could be key in Rome. | SNS Group

12. Sione Tuipulotu
Scotland captain ready to lead team in the Six Nations after missing out last season through injury. In great form for Glasgow. | SNS Group / SRU
