It’s summer in Glasgow, with the schools off and the Fair Fortnight underway.
It means the city’s a little quieter than usual, but that doesn’t mean that there’s not plenty on.

9. Ciara Phillips - Undoing it
Another cheap (free!) way to while away a couple of hours in the city is to pop into Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA). As well as enjoying the permanent exhibitions, which includes work by many of the biggest names in contemporary art, you can also check out the current show by Canadian/Irish artist Ciara Phillips. 'Undoing it' showcases her vibrant woodcuts, etchings and screen-prints in Gallery 3. | Google Maps

10. Catch an outdoor film screening
There are a series of free films being shown this month at Glasgow's Queen's Park Arena. There are still tickets available (there's no charge but you do need to book in advance) for today's screenings of '101 Dalmations' at 1.30pm and 'The Exorcist' at 6pm. | Contributed

11. Listen to a free organ recital
Another one of Glasgow's free museum, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a wonderful place to visit. But if you make sure you are in the ornate main hall at 1pm today you'll be able to hear a free organ recital. Generally featuring light and fun material - expect to hear anything from Brahms to Bowie. | Canva/Getty Images

12. Hit the beach - whatever the weather
The weather forecast isn't great today, but your kids can still enjoy the sand at the indoor Flamingo Beach at Braehead – open from 10am to 5pm. For a £3.25 donation to the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity the wee ones can enjoy playing for half an hour while you you enjoy a cuppa. You can then enjoy shopping - using the discounts available on your Flamingo Beach wristband. | Conributed
