Scotland had to dig deep to secure a bonus point win against Fiji at Murrayfield as the replacements made all the difference in the second half.
Gregor Townsend’s side trailed 17-7 at half time but the introduction of key players like Sione Tuipulotu, Pierre Schoeman and Jamie Dobie from the bench helped them claw it back and ultimately win the Test reasonably comfortably. For long periods though, it was anything but and many of the players who featured in the first half failed to make the grade.
Here are our player ratings from Scotland’s Nations Championship win over the Flying Fijians at Murrayfield:

9. George Horne - 6
Kicked well and got about the pitch with his usual energy but the gaps weren't there for him to exploit with ball in hand | SNS Group

10. Fergus Burke - 7
Looked to run with ball in hand in the first half which didn't work out but put in a much more composed display after the break and marshalled the game better. | SNS Group / SRU

11. Duhan van der Merwe - 6
Dreadful first half from the winger who was nowhere to be seen for most of it but, like a few others, he came to life after the break and started forcing the Fijians into some big tackles to stop him scoring. | SNS Group / SRU

12. Stafford McDowall - 5
Every time he took the ball to the line in the first half he was immediately halted. After the break he had a bit more joy to balance out overall rating. Man of the match in the stadium was an odd call to say the least. | SNS Group
