It’s only been a few days since a procession of drenched athletes sailed down the Seine as the official Opening Ceremony got the Paris Olympics underway in torrential rain - but we’ve already been treated to plenty of magical moments and intriguing subplots.
These are the happenings that have had social media buzzing and filled the front pages of newspapers.
From remarkable athletic achievement and world famous celebs, to amusing incidents and sporting skullduggery, these Games have had it all.
Here are 10 of the most memorable Olympic moments so far - and there’s plenty more to come.

9. Tears of joy
Adam Peaty came withing two milliseconds of a history-making third consecutive Olympic 100m breaststroke title. It was so nearly the perfect comeback for an athlete who has suffered from mental health issues, alcoholism and a broken foot in recent years. Interviewed shortly after his silver medal performance, he broke down into tears, before explaining: "I’m not crying because I have lost. Because in my heart I have won. These are happy tears. If you’re willing to put yourself on the line every single time, I think there’s no such thing as a loss. And I’m so happy that the right man won. This is my sixth Olympic medal, three of them gold. And I think the 14-year-old that started out on this crusade would have taken that. It’s broken me this sport, but it’s also given me life. It’s given me everything I am.” Cue allergies playing up in living rooms around the world. | Getty Images

10. Dronegate
In a case of truth being stranger than fiction Canada's head football coach Bev Priestman was suspended for the remainder of the Games after a drone was used to spy on a training session held by the defending champions' group rivals New Zealand. Days later the team, who defeated New Zealand 2-1, were penalised with a six point deduction, leaving their chances of progressing from the group hanging by a thread. Priestman, who has said she is "absolutely heartbroken for the players", has now also received a one-year football ban from world governing body Fifa. | Getty Images
