Hibs left it late in the final game of the weekend to stay with Rangers on 13 points at the top of the Scottish Premiership. The Easter Road side weren’t the only team to put on a late show to grab a crucial win with Celtic doing likewise on Saturday evening at Dundee United.
The league may have not thrown up plenty of goals but there has still been excitement and intrigue around the league. Referee decisions still infuriate, classy goals are still being scored and defensive dunderheids are around every corner.

5. Ryan Kent (W)
A day after Leeds United had bid for the player, Ryan Kent was the star of the show at Ibrox as Rangers downed Kilmarnock 2-0 with the attacker scoring the second with a composed pass into the net. But his overall performance in a free role was captivating. It was clear to see he has emerged as Rangers’ key man now. Photo: Rob Casey - SNS Group

6. Rangers defensive record (W)
The team equaled a record which was set in 1929 of five consecutive clean sheets to start a league campaign. They did so with another defensive performance which saw them rarely troubled. So far in five games only 17 shots have been given up. Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group

7. Killie attack (L)
Jon McLaughlin may as well have had the day off at Ibrox such was his lack of involvement. Kilmarnock made it more difficult for Rangers than St Johnstone and St Mirren but they offered very little in the way of an attacking threat. There is that expectation at Ibrox but it is an issue overall for Kilmarnock. Only Aberdeen have had fewer shots per 90 minutes and 41 per cent of efforts have come from outside the box. 8. Lennon’s subs (W)
It did seem to appear yet another Sky Sports fixture was heading for a 0-0 on Saturday evening until Albian Ajeti netted a late winner for Celtic. It owed much to the team’s perseverance in the second half as well as Neil Lennon’s decision to switch to a back three and go two up top with Mohamed Elyounoussi being removed.
