Hibs transfer news: Duo set to sign and further additions possible - what to expect on deadline day
Plenty activity expected at Easter Road after big-money departure
Hibs are expected to be active on transfer deadline day as they look to reinvest some of the Kieron Bowie transfer windfall.
Bowie left Hibs for Hellas Verona on Friday evening for a club-record sale that could rise to £7 million with add-ons. The fee eclipsed the £4.4m recouped from Celtic for Scott Brown back in 2007.
Hibs were already planning to strengthen their squad in the final days of the transfer window but with a significant cash injection, they can work on targets.
Three players have already been brought in during the final week of the transfer window. Sligo Rovers forward Anthony Elding, 19, has been bought for a six-figure fee, while another 19-year-old midfielder in Kai Andrews has arrived from Coventry City on loan. Hibs have also reinforced their forward line with the arrival of striker Dane Scarlett, 21, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Hibs are expected to complete the signing of Slaven Belupo forward Ante Suts, who was in attendance at Easter Road for Sunday’s goalless draw with Rangers. The 25-year-old, who can play out wide or through the middle, has scored four goals and laid on five assists this season.
Hibs are open to bolstering their squad across all sectors but in particular striker and right wing-back. They have agreed a deal for Bochum's Felix Passlack, who is out of contract in the summer and was also in the stand at Easter Road on Sunday, and have made enquiries about Sheffield Wednesday striker Bailey Cadamarteri.
Central midfield could be a position to watch, especially with Josh Mulligan nursing an ankle knock. They were linked with Aberdeen's Dante Polvara before the American decided to move back to his homeland with St Louis FC.
“I still expect there to be a little bit of movement now between now and the end of the window,” head coach David Gray said after Sunday’s match against Rangers. “If there's not, it's probably only because we don't feel it's right for the squad to make the squad better. That's something that we've always said. The squad has to end the window stronger than it starts."
Outgoings cannot be discounted on the final day of the window either. Gambian midfielder Alasana Manneh has fallen down the pecking order and has interest from clubs on the continent, while French forward Elie Youan - entering the final months of his contract - has been close to departing over the past year. Hibs may look to recoup a fee rather than letting him leave for nothing in the summer.
