David Gray 'expects' Hibs transfer deadline day arrivals as duo take in Rangers match after 'brilliant' move
Hibs boss provides transfer update after goalless draw at Easter Road
Hibs manager David Gray “expects” there will be new additions to his squad as the hours tick down to Monday night’s transfer deadline.
Speaking after a 0-0 draw with Rangers at Easter Road that underlined the need for extra creative outlets, Gray said he was not ready to confirm signings without being 100 per cent sure they were over the line. Croatian winger Ante Suto was in attendance at Easter Road as he prepares to agree terms on a move from Slaven Belupo in the Croatian top flight. Felix Passlack was also present with the right back looking set to sign from Bundesliga 2 side Bochum.
Gray lamented the lack of cutting edge afterwards. “I am a bit disappointed we've not been a bit more clinical," he said. "It's very easy to say, goals obviously change games. So if one of the chances go in, the game becomes very different. So I am slightly frustrated and disappointed we've not won the game.

“I still expect there to be a little bit of movement now between now and the end of the window,” he added. “If there's not, it's probably only because we don't feel it's right for the squad to make the squad better. That's something that we've always said. The squad has to end the window stronger than it starts."
Gray addressed Bowie’s departure to Italian Serie A side Hellas Verona for the first time. “A brilliant opportunity for him, delighted for him on a personal level,” he said. “And brilliant for the football club, bringing a young boy in, working with him for 18 months and then he moves onto bigger and better things. That’s part of football.”

Hibs have already brought in some young new signings, including Kai Andrews on loan from Coventry City. The 19-year-old made his debut against Rangers as a first-half substitute for Miguel Chaiwa. Owen Elding, a teenage striker who has arrived from Sligo Rovers, and Dane Scarlett, an on-loan signing from Spurs aged 21, made their bows in the second half.
“The group is still quite a new group in terms of some of the additions that came in," he said. "There's certainly a lot to work with from that point of view. It's really exciting from now on into the season, if we can put it all together.”
