Where is the game set?

Silent Hill: Townfall is set in the fictional Scottish fishing village of St. Amelia.

Screen Burn took direct inspiration from Scotland’s haar and towns along the East Neuk of Fife when making the game; specifically St Monans. While it is the only named influence, other seaside towns were also referenced to help the studio create a location which felt real and lived in.

While it isn’t quote as isolated Silent Hill would lead you to believe, village does feature the game’s narrow streets and windy passageways.

What is it about?

With the unique and isolated setting in Scotland, Silent Hill: Townfall is a first person game which follows Simon Ordell.

Called back to St. Amelia to “put things right”, he finds that the fog covered town is seemingly abandoned, though not at rest. As he continues to explore, he is driven to understand his own connection to the area and its residents and the fog on their shared past begins to lift.

As Simon, players must evade and uncover clues, utilising only a limited set of weapons and tools, including - most notably - the CRTV; a pocket television which allows Simon to tune into unstable signals.

Expect series-typical psychological horror and atmosphere despite the game’s self-contained setting.
