If the start of Christmas songs playing on the radio or while shopping has indicated, we are getting very close to Christmas 2024; which means we’re now in the midsts of Panto season!
Whatever your outlook is on the artform - and yes, it is still an artform - Scotland has its fair share of pantomime taking place throughout the remainder of the year, while one production from our picks continues well into the new year.
Many of these events are ticketed, so be prepared to visit Ticketmaster, ATG Tickets or contacting the relevant box office or ticketing outlet for the pantomimes you’ve decided to sit back and enjoy a little audience participation from.
But before you say anything - yes, it would appear Aladdin and Jack and the Beanstalk are the pantomimes du jour this year; but what else has made our selection of Pantomimes taking place in Scotland in 2024?

5. Aladdin (Paisley)
A seasonal treat for adults and children alike, Aladdin will run from Wednesday 27 November 24 – Sunday 5 January 25 in the newly refurbished Paisley Arts Centre. PACE Theatre Company has produced Paisley’s acclaimed pantomime at Paisley Arts Centre since 1988 and are thrilled to be back performing in the venue. | Provided

6. Snow White (Stirling)
Oh dear. Things aren’t going too well down in Stirling Stella. The Baroness Fantasia De’Wharff needs a nanny to control her seven unruly step-children particularly, the rather wild Snow White. Step forward Nanny Maria Shut-Yon-Trapp who wants to fill the pantosphere with her own Sound Of Music. Will Nanny Maria save the day and defeat evil as Snow White of The Seven De’Wharffs plays at Macrobert Arts Centre from November 27 2024. | Canva

7. Beauty and the Beastie (Glasgow)
The hugely popular Pavilion panto is back for 2024 with a beauty of a pantomime! Life in Cludgie on the Cobbles is quiet and peaceful. Belle passes her days helping her mother, Professor Porridge and their neighbours Dame Dolly Drumchapel and her son, Hector. Up in Cludgie Castle, however, things are not so tranquil. The arrogant Prince Lorenzo has had a curse placed on him by an enchantress and must find true love before the final petal falls from a magic rose. Will he be able to change his ways…and his appearance? Find out when Beauty and The Beastie plays from November 28 2024. | Provided

8. Mother Goose (Perth)
It's "Mother" Gabi Goose's final day as manager of McGregory's Eggery (Earthshire's Most EGGxcellent Eggs!), and she's looking forward to retiring after many happy years' loyal service. But hold on - who's this that's just turned up? It's Greta Garbage, the new owner, and she's got some rather worrying plans for the business. No more free ranging Geese - she's caging them all, and if you're not careful, she'll cage you too! The caper begins in the Main House, Perth Theatre from November 29 2024. | Provided
