First held in 1970 as the Pop, Blues & Folk Festival - when just 1,500 people attended - Glastonbury has grown to become a major event in the British cultural calendar, with most of the biggest names in music having played it at least once.
Last year over 200,000 enjoyed headline sets from Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975, along with hundreds of other bands playing countless stages of all sizes - and millions watched the extensive television coverage.
As part of the green ethos of organisers Michael and Emily Evis, the event taking a break every five years to give the working farm some time to rejuvenate from the inevitable wear and tear caused - and this year was one such ‘fallow year’.
The resultant gap in 2026’s music festival has, if anything, only increased speculation as to who will be topping the bill in 2027.
The tickets went on sale earlier this month and sold out immediately - despite not a single act being announced.

9. Eminem - 4/1
Still arguably the biggest star in rap, Eminem will be marking the 30th anniversary of his debut studio album 'Infinite' in 2026, with 2027 making the 10th birthday of his ninth - 'Revival'. A global lap of honour could well include a Glastonbury headlining slot. | Getty Images

10. Chappell Roan - 4/1
One of the biggest success stories of recent years, Chappell Roan's debut album 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess' has turned her into a global star. By the time Glastonbury 2027 comes around she'll have another album out, putting paid to any concerns over a lack of material. Olivia Rodrigo proved she could more than deliver this year with just two albums, and Roan could follow suit. | Getty Images for YouTube

11. Little Simz - 4/1
London rapper Little Simz played second on the bill to perennial headliners Coldplay at Glastonbury in 2024 and played one of the best sets of the entire festival. There's only one place for her to go in 2027 - and that's the headline slot. | Ritzau Scanpix/AFP via Getty Ima

12. Fred Again - 4/1
British producer and DJ Fred Again has proven he can deliver on the biggest of stages - headlining Reading and Leeds in 2024. That was the same year he played a 'secret set' at Glastonbury's Strummerville Stage. He's regularly spoken of his love for the festival, so it would be a dream for him to headline in 2027. | AFP via Getty Images
