Getting together with a few friends for a couple of drinks, answer some fiendish questions, and perhaps win a prize - lots of us enjoy the occasional pub quiz.
Edinburgh is spoilt for choice when it comes to these entertaining evenings that test your knowledge of everything from music to capital cities.
Running from Sundays-Thursdays (Fridays and Saturdays are too busy for quizzing in boozers), many of them offer great prizes, including cash and bar tabs.
Here are 10 that will keep even the most dedicated Edinburgh mastermind busy - two for every pub quizzing evening.

5. Wednesday - Mad Hatter
A £30 bar tab is up for grabs every Wednesday at the Mad Hatter, on Torphichen Street, with a bottle of wine to take away for second place. The quiz takes place in the pub's basement and the questions start at 7.30pm. It's free entry with a maximum of five people (or six at a squeeze) per team. | Google Maps

6. Wednesday - Ghillie Dhu
The man bar in the opulent surroundings of Ghillie Dhu is the venue for the weekly pub quiz every Wednesday. It runs from 7.30-8pm with a bar tab for first and a bottle of prosecco or beer bucket for the second-placed team. It's on Rutland Street, in the city centre. | Google Maps

7. Thursday - The Newsroom
A big cash prize jackpot can be won by quizzers at the Newsroom quiz at 9pm, with a £50 weekly rollover often building up. There's also booze available for the winner. It's on every Thursday on Leith Street. | Google Maps

8. Thursday - The Strathmore
Another great option for Leith trivia fans is the Strathmore (or Strathie) pub on Buchanan Street. It's a 7pm start every Thursday with a £30 rollover jackpot and bar tabs on offer to the winners. | Google Maps
