2026 marks an important milestone in the history of the UK’s biggest dance festival, Creamfields.
Though the event has been running since 1998, those familiar with their surroundings since the move to Daresbury Estate in Cheshire might want to pop open a bottle of bubbly next year, as it will mark 20 years of the festival taking place at the beloved location - home to the recently developed HALO and, according to my editor, one of the most “chilled” festival camping atmospheres they’ve experienced in a while.
The festival is known for making a “big deal” when it comes to important milestones, and as the general mood of the music listening public is starting to gravitate once again towards all things electronic, could one of these 15 acts make an ideal headliner in 2026?
We’ve taken a look at some of the names that have permeated Creamfields’ history since its beginnings, several recent acts that have made waves performing at either Tomorrowland in Belgium or Coachella in the United States, along with some of our favourites over the years, to guess, at this point, who could be a headline act next year.
Would you be keen to head along if one of these names were announced?

5. Martin Garrix
A certified superstar and a frequent Creamfields headliner, Martin Garrix is always a strong bet for the top of the bill. He's matured as an artist, and his sets now blend his signature EDM sound with more progressive elements. 6. Nia Archives
A rising star with a truly unique sound, Nia Archives is a fantastic choice for a headline slot. While she has yet to headline the main stage, her recent sets at other UK festivals have proven her ability to command a massive crowd. She would bring her infectious jungle and drum and bass energy to the festival in a set that would surely be a defining moment for the UK's underground scene. | Stuart C. Wilson/Getty Images

7. Fred Again..
While he has yet to headline Creamfields, Fred Again..'s performances at other major festivals have proven he's a star in the making. His unique and emotionally resonant sets, built on samples from his life, would bring a raw, human element to the main stage that few other DJs can. | ANNA KURTH/AFP via Getty Images

8. Scooter
The German techno-hardcore legends have been a surprise but very welcome addition to recent Creamfields line-ups. Scooter are an iconic live act with a devoted fanbase, and their performance would be a high-energy spectacle of rave anthems and their signature vocal hooks. It would be a huge sing-along and a moment of pure, nostalgic festival fun. | Miguel Villagran/Getty Images
