Scottish golf professional 'traced' after frantic search involving PGA colleagues
Stuart Kerr had been reported as missing by Police Scotland Lanarkshire on Wednesday morning
A golfer who had been reported missing has been “traced” after an overnight search involving family and friends, including fellow PGA professionals.
Stuart Kerr, one of the pros based at Strathclyde Park Family Golf Centre in Lanarkshire, was reported missing by Police Scotland Lanarkshire on Wednesday morning.

In an update on Thursday morning, it was reported that he had last been seen on Glasgow Road leaving Chapleton and heading towards Strathaven on foot. In a further update at around 10am, it was then reported that the 53-year-old had been found.
A Police Lanarkshire Scotland post on social media said: “We can confirm that Stuart Kerr, 53, who was reported missing from Strathaven has been traced. Thank you to everyone who shared our earlier appeals.”
Among those who took part in the frantic search for Kerr was Derek Watters, the PGA professional at Gourock Golf Club.
In a video on social media before Kerr was found, he praised the “community in Strathaven and Chapleton and the broader community across Scotland within the PGA for helping in the search”.
Jason Boyd, the PGA pro at Montrose Links, is the current chair of the PGA in Scotland committee. “Such a relief to have Stuart found safe,” he wrote in a post.
