Scotland to play at Sunderland in Women's Six Nations
Venue handy for travelling supporters
Scotland’s 2027 Women’s Six Nations clash against England will be played at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.
The Rugby Football Union announced on Tuesday that the Premier League football ground would host the game on Saturday, April 17, with kick-off at 4.45pm. It will be England Women’s first home match at a non-rugby stadium outside of a Rugby World Cup.
It is a venue that should prove popular with travelling Scotland supporters given its proximity to the border. Early bird tickets are £15 for adults and £10 for juniors and are now on general sale.

Scotland’s last away game against England came at last year’s Rugby World Cup when the sides met in the quarter-finals at Bristol’s Ashton Gate. The hosts won 40-8.
The 2025 Women’s Six Nations game between the sides was played at Leicester Tigers’ Welford Road, with England winning 59-7.
Scotland Women return to Murrayfield
Scotland hosted England at Murrayfield in last year’s Women’s Six Nations and drew a crowd of 30,498, the highest ever recorded for a standalone women’s sports fixture in Scotland. England won 84-7.
They will return to the national rugby stadium for their opening game of next year’s championship, against Ireland on April 10. They will then face England in round two before heading to France for round three on April 24.
Scotland’s final two matches, against Italy and Wales, will be played at Hive Stadium on May 8 and 15, respectively.
England played at the Stadium of Light in their first match of the 2025 Rugby World Cup, beating the USA 67-9 in front of 42,723 - a record crowd for a Women's World Cup at the time.
