Glasgow Warriors look to have their squad set for the 2026/27 season after defence coach Scott Forrest recently confirmed they were unlikely to make any further new signings.
Former Scotland captain Jamie Ritchie should prove a quality addition to the back row especially after the loss of international teammate Jack Dempsey. Warriors also have some promising talent coming through as well as a very strong core of establish players despite the recent departures.
Here is how The Scotsman views the best starting XV available to Franco Smith ahead of Glasgow Warriors’ 2026/27 United Rugby Championship and Investec Champions Cup campaigns:

1. Patrick Schickerling
There's good depth and international experience in the front row for Warriors which should stand them in good stead with the Namibian really having come into his own at Scotstoun last season | SNS Group

2. Gregor Hiddleston
Returns to Scotstoun after the summer as a Scotland international and one who impressed during the Nations Championship. Seb Stephen also won a cap and should prove an exciting and able deputy | SNS Group

3. Zander Fagerson
It will be 12 years in October since the British & Irish Lion made his Warriors debut and he has never looked back since | SNS Group

4. Gregor Brown
Injuries decimated Glasgow's prop ranks last season but they're well stocked when everyone's fit and available with Brown firmly established as a starter | SNS Group
