In its near 150 year history, the Melrose Sevens has seen more than its fair share of great teams take to the pitch at the Greenyards.
However, since the advent of the professional game, the full-time clubs have generally opted to send mainly development players to the Borders town when invited. That wasn’t the case in 2015 though when Glasgow Warriors bucked the trend with a stacked roster of talent.
The team included current and future Scotland internationals, Scotland Sevens regulars, a Fijian cult hero and one of the greatest players to ever take part in the shortened game. Here is the Warriors’ squad that stormed to victory at the 2015 Melrose Sevens:

9. Mark Bennett
In his second spell at Warriors, having had a brief stint in France with Clermont, the centre would go on to earn 29 Scotland caps (scoring eight tries), win a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics with GB 7s and be nominated for World Rugby's 'Breakthrough Player of the Year' | SNS Group/SRU

10. Carlin Isles
Although his career in the 15-a-side game never took off, and he failed to make a senior appearance for Warriors, the American, a former track and field star, is considered one of the greatest Sevens players of all time having competed in almost 300 events and scored over 200 tries. | SNS Group/SRU
