The 2026 edition of the EPCR Challenge Cup final takes place this weekend as Ulster face Montpellier in Bilbao.
It’s a competition that Edinburgh are set to compete in next season and one where they could have a chance of a good run. They will be looking to go one step further than the last time they reached the final back in 2015.
It was a match where former scrum half Greig Laidlaw kicked English side Gloucester to a 19-13 win at Twickenham Stoop. Here is what all 23 players from the Edinburgh Rugby squad that day are doing now:
13. Dougie Fife
Began a career as a personal trainer in Boston, USA this year | SNS Group / SRU
14. Sam Beard
Performance and pathway transition coach at Hong Kong China Rugby | SNS Group/SRU
15. Andries Strauss
Moved into business after 2016 retirement and worked as a Athlete manager at CSM sports and Entertainment | SNS Group / SRU
