UK Snooker Championship Prize Money: Wednesday order of play, second round draw, results, when John Higgins plays
It’s day five at one of the biggest tournaments of the year - with the second round matches getting underway.
First held in 1977, this year’s UK Championship is the 48th time the finest players in the world have competed for the title.

It’s the first of the so-called ‘Triple Crown’ events of the season, with the World Championships and the Masters the other big two tournaments.
Last year’s championship sawJudd Trump defeat Barry Hawkins 10-8 in a nail-biting final and both are back this year - alongside Scotland’s John Higgins who has won the tournament three times in the past (in 1998, 2000 and 2010).
Both Trump and Higgins are safely through to the second round, but Scottish player Stephen Maguire is out. Fellow countryman Scott Donaldson had better luck, storming to a 6-1 win over eighth seed Mark Allen yesterday.
And yesterday saw Ronnie O’Sullivan crash out 6-4 to Zhou Yuelong in the first round - that record-extending 24th Triple Crown trophy will have to wait.
