Stafanie Taylor rescued the West Indies after they had slipped to 85 for five, with a 19-ball 47 to see her side post 153 for six.

Darcey Carter then survived cramp and being dropped twice to post 59 but it proved in vain as Scotland succumbed to their first loss of the tournament.

Katherine Fraser contributed in every facet of the game, taking a stunning catch right on the edge of the boundary to dismiss Qiana Joseph.

She then dismissed the dangerous Hayley Matthews for 14 from 22 as the West Indies struggled to find impetus.

Deandra Dottin was dismissed for 14 on her 150th T20I as the Bryces combined with Sarah stumping off Kathryn’s bowling before Fraser affected a run-out off the next ball to dismiss Shemaine Campbelle for 36 and leave the West Indies at 80 for four.

In the 15th over, the Windies slipped to 85 for five but that brought out the legendary Taylor who rescued her side with 47 from 19, with three sixes as Scotland began to crack under pressure.

Taylor finished with a final maximum to set Scotland their biggest-ever chase of 154, they were not daunted as Carter crunched three fours off Dottin’s first over to put them well ahead.

Carter was then dropped on 19 by Joseph before the Windies hit back as Matthews dismissed Fraser and Kathryn Bryce in the space of three balls.

Scotland then slipped to 58 for four as Sarah Bryce was caught as simply as her sister before Megan McColl became Matthews’ third victim, dismissed LBW.

Priyanaz Chatterji was dismissed for eight, but that brought Ailsa Lister to partner Carter as they steadied the ship, with the opener bringing up her maiden World Cup fifty.

Carter was dropped again on 42 but her luck came to an end having made 59 as she, Lister and Kirstie Gordon were all dismissed in one Aaliyah Alleyne over to end their hopes, with Scotland eventually dismissed for 146.
