How to watch the Old Firm derby
Rangers and Celtic meet in a crunch Old Firm showdown at Ibrox on Sunday that could have a huge bearing on both club’s title aspirations.
The Glasgow giants find themselves in the unfamiliar position of playing catch-up to Hearts, who lead the Premiership table by seven points after a 1-0 win over Aberdeen on Saturday.
Rangers are Hearts’ nearest challengers and will look to close the gap back to four points by defeating their arch-rivals for the second time in succession following the 3-1 victory at Parkhead in January which resulted in Celtic sacking short-lived manager Wilfried Nancy.
Celtic are nine points behind Hearts but have played two games less. A victory at Ibrox would see them leapfrog Rangers and give them the chance to move to within three points of the leaders if they win their game in hand.
Hearts will be watching events unfold at Ibrox with interest, perhaps hoping for a draw that would see both clubs drop points, as they bid to become the first side outwith the Old Firm since Aberdeen in 1986 to lift the Scottish title.
The game is the first of an Old Firm double-header with Celtic returning to Ibrox next weekend for a Scottish Cup quarter-final against Rangers.
