Scottish football authorities braced for weather disruption after early postponement and six inspections
Premiership games set to go ahead as planned - but others matches could fall by wayside
Scottish football authorities are braced for weather disruption to this weekend’s card, with a number of pitch inspections planned.
A band of cold and inclement conditions are expected to sweep through the country overnight on Friday and into Saturday morning. As a result, six pitch inspections have been scheduled across the Scottish Professional Football League’s four divisions.
In League Two, one game has already bitten the dust. The clash at Galabank between Annan Athletic and Elgin City has been called off due to a frozen pitch.

The following pitch inspections are planned for games in the Championship, League One and League Two:
- Greenock Morton v Dunfermline Athletic - Saturday 9.00am
- Queen's Park v St Johnstone - Saturday 9.30am
- Alloa Athletic v Montrose - Saturday 10.00am
- Peterhead v Hamilton Accies - Saturday 8.00am
- Dumbarton v Clyde - Saturday 9.30am
- East Kilbride v The Spartans - Saturday 10.30am
There are no inspections currently planned for the top-flight fixtures. Livingston’s home game against St Mirren on Tuesday was called off due to frost and they are due to host Kilmarnock on Saturday at the Home of the Set Fare Arena. However, at the time of writing, there are no concerns over the game.
Aberdeen are due to host Rangers on Sunday afternoon at Pittodrie. Much of the north east has been hit by snow, making parts of Aberdeenshire treacherous, but the game is expected to be unaffected by the weather.
