Scottish starlet’s departure confirmed

Kilmarnock have released their retained list amid the conclusion of 2025/26, with Scotland under-21 star David Watson and goalkeeper Robby McCrorie heading the list of players heading the list of players set to depart Rugby Park this summer. While the club have confirmed they remain in discussions over a contract extension with youngster Cole Burke over extending his deal, a statement on the website said they’d like “thank each player for their contributions to Killie and wishes all of those departing the best of luck in their future endeavours” before confirming that several first team players were out of contract, and seemingly set to depart the club.

Winner of the Scottish Premiership young player of the year award in 2023/24, Watson was reported to be on the radar of Serie A outfit Bologna, with Rangers and Celtic also understood to be keeping tabs on the 21-year-old. However, fresh reports claim newly promoted EFL League One outfit Bolton Wanderers have won the race for his signature.

Alongside Watson and McCrorie, the top-flight outfit looks set to say goodbye to captain Brad Lyons, Lewis Mayo, Matthew Kennedy, Kyle Magennis, Bruce Anderson, Marley Watkins, Kian Leslie, Zander Craik, Liam Polworth, Duncan Barlow, Ethan Mersey, and Aaron Tshibola. Meanwhile, Zac Williams, Kelle Roos and Findlay Curtis are all set to return to their parent clubs following the end of their loan agreement.

Hibs 25-goal man to leave

Hibs have confirmed that Elie Youan will exit the club this summer upon the expiry of his contract after four seasons at Easter Road. The French forward tops the list of departures for David Gray’s side, with academy players Owen Calder, Dean Cleland and Jamie McMurdo also confirmed to be departing the club this summer.

Youan, 27, first joined Hibs at the beginning of the 2022/23 season on a season-long loan deal from Swiss side St Gallen, but penned a permanent deal a year later after bagging nine goals in 37 appearances. In total, he’s featured 118 times for the club, scoring 25 goals and assisting a further 21. The capital club have also announced that Dan Barlaser, Kai Andrews, Dane Scarlett and Munashe Garananga will return to their parent clubs following their loan spells.

Rangers exit on cards

Rangers winger Oliver Antman has emerged as a target for Club Brugge this summer, with the club said to have added him to their transfer shortlist. The Finnish international moved to Ibrox a year ago for a fee of around £ 3.5 million from Eredivisie outfit Go Ahead Eagles, but has struggled to make an impact, with injuries and a lack of form resulting in him starting just eight league games last season.

Linked with a potential return to the Netherlands in January, the 24-year-old had emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents during his time with Go Ahead Eagles, helping the team win the KNVB Cup for the first time in their history, beating AZ Alkmaar on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra-time. During that campaign, he was involved in 13 goals (5 goals, 8 assists) since December 2024, putting him behind only Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, and Ousmane Dembele in goal contributions across top leagues.

However, after failing to nail down a starting spot at Rangers in the second half of the season, reports on the continent now claim the club is prepared to sanction a departure, with Antman wanted by head coach Ivan Leko in order to add pace and creativity on the flanks.

‘No Celtic offer’ for winger

Go Ahead Eagles CEO Jan Willem has said the club have received “no official offers” for key attacker Jakob Breum, despite strong reports that Celtic are ready to rekindle their interest in the Danish youngster ahead of the summer transfer window re-opening. Linked with a move to Parkhead a year ago, the Dutch outfit were said to have rejected three bids from Celtic as they looked to hang onto a player who had delivered 10 goals and five assists.T

The 22-year-old remained at De Adelaarshorst last season and went on to enjoy another productive season for the club, contributing to 12 goals as the club finished mid-table. Capable of playing on the wing or in a central attacking role, the Dane has interest from across the continent, with clubs outside of the Netherlands eyeing a move for a player whose contract has just one year left to run.

However, speaking to CeltsAreHere, Willem insists they has been no concrete offers for Breum despite the speculation around his future. It is believed it would require a fee of around £4million to prize him away from Go Ahead Eagles.Elsewhere, Celtic are also understood to be eyeing a move for former Real Madrid forward Alvaro Rodriguez. Linked to several clubs this summer, the 21-year-old scored seven goals and provided seven assists for Elche CF last season, and has previously been linked to Dutch trio Feyenoord, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
