Scotland starlet closes on £2m move

Scotland Under-21 star Luke Graham is set to exit Dundee after the club agreed a deal worth around £2million for the defender. The 22-year-old has been the source of interest for several clubs in recent months after making a major impact in his breakthrough season at Dens Park, and it appears that Stoke have been the team to win the race for his signature.

Understood to have been on Rangers’ transfer wishlist this summer, the 6ft 4in centre-back was the subject of a rejected £1million bid from EFL Championship outfit Portsmouth during the January transfer window, and it was reported that John Mousinho’s side were looking to pounce once again this summer, only for the Potters to gazump them earlier this week.

Currently in Hungary on pre-season training camp with the Dark Blues, Graham will jet back into the country this week to thrash out a deal with Mark Robins’ side, who have also had a bid of £10million accepted by Swansea City for Northern Ireland international midfielder Ethan Galbraith.

Dundee United to add ex-Dortmund man

Dundee United are closing in on a deal for ex-Burton Albion goalkeeper Jordan Amissah as they continue their major restructure of the Tannadice squad this summer, as per a report from the Courier. Head coach Jim Goodwin has already added a total of six new signings, with the Germany-born stopper set to be the latest new arrival after he passed a medical at the club on Tuesday.

Standing at 6ft 6in, Amissah has experience of the Scottish Premiership already, having spent a short but successful time at Ross County during the 2024/25 campaign, and now looks likely to return, having agreed a deal with Goodwin’s side. The 24-year-old goalkeeper was released by the Brewers last week, with the club agreeing to cancel his contract by mutual consent at the Pirelli Stadium, having made minimal first-team appearances last season. Beginning his professional career with Sheffield United, he represented Bundesliga giants Schalke and Borussia Dortmund at the youth level prior to his switch to Bramall Lane.

Rangers double exit mooted

Rangers playmaker Thelo Aasgaard could be shown the exit door at Ibrox this summer, with Serie A outfit Atalanta stepping up their interest in the 24-year-old. Signed for a fee of £3.5million from Luton Town last summer, enduring an unconvincing first season with the club, dipping in and out of the starting XI as the club struggled to retain their title challenge.

Despite his struggles in Glasgow, Aasgaard received a surprise call-up to Norway’s World Cup squad, scoring in the 4-1 group stage defeat to France last week. While his nation is still in the tournament following their 2-1 last 32 victory over the Ivory Coast on Tuesday night, the midfielder could be set to jet off to Italy upon his return, with Corriere Della Sera claiming head coach Maurizio Sarri is a fan of the player, and is considering a double swap for him and Rangers teammate Nico Raskin this summer.

Meanwhile, legendary former Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor is set to make a sensational return to the club as part of head coach Derek McInnes’ backroom staff. The 44-year-old is in line to replace outgoing goalkeeping coach Sal Bibbo, who joined the club from Sheffield Wednesday last summer. According to a report from the Daily Record, the ex-Scotland international has already agreed a deal to seal his return, with official confirmation expected later today.

Celtic eye 32-cap international

Celtic are considering a move for Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis this summer as a potential replacement for Arne Engels, with interest building in the Belgian international. The Scottish champions are set to face a serious battle to hang onto their 22-year-old playmaker, with Nottingham Forest, Sunderland and AS Roma also linked with a move for Engels, who is rated at around £25million.

Subject of a failed bid from Forest on transfer deadline day, Celtic have already started their search for a replacement, with one report claiming that Engels has a ‘planned exit’. Amid that speculation, their attention appears to have turned to Lithuanian midfielder Gineitis, with reports claiming he has been watched by club scouts in the Italian top flight in recent months.

Under contract until the summer of 2029, the 22-year-old was a regular at the Stadio Olimpico Grande last season, playing 29 times for Il Toro, while he’s also a fully fledged international. He has 32 caps for Lithuania, having made his international debut at just 18.
