What channel is Rangers v Roma? TV and live stream details for Europa League clash
How to watch Rangers v Roma
Rangers will go searching for their first points in this season’s Europa League when they host Italian side Roma at Ibrox on Thursday night.
Starting the campaign with three successive defeats by Genk, Sturm Graz and Brann has left the Govan club rock bottom of the 36-team table as one of only four teams without a single point approaching the halfway stage of the league phase of the competition.
The 3-0 defeat by Brann in Norway a fortnight ago was the first match in charge of new boss Danny Rohl, who has since overseen an marked improvement in performances with wins over Kilmarnock and Hibs followed by a praisworthy display in the 3-1 Premier Sports Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic, where Rangers recovered from a goal down to force extra-time despite having midfielder Thelo Aasgaard sent off in the first-half.
With five more Europa League fixtures to come, and 15 points still to play for, all is not lost for Rangers in the bid to reach the knockout phase. However, a victory over Roma - who are visiting Scotland on competitive duty for the first time since the infamous 1984 European Cup semi-final against Dundee United - will be viewed as essential if they are to retain any hope of salvaging the campaign.
The Serie A outfit started the league phase with a 2-1 win at Nice but lost 1-0 at home to another French club, Lille, before a 2-1 defeat to Czech Republic side Viktoria Plzen, whom Rangers overcame in the Champions League qualifiers earlier in the season.
