It has been the most intense Scottish Premiership title race in recent history, though Hearts and Rangers will feel the biggest injection of confidence after securing mammoth weekend victories.
Rangers’ 3-1 victory over Celtic has dragged them right back into contention for the title, with the Ibrox giants now level on points with their fierce rivals, who have lost three of their last six games under new head coach Wilfried Nancy.
While the victory pulled Danny Rohl’s side back into the conversation, it perhaps benefited league leaders Hearts the most, with the Jambos now six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership following their 1-0 win over Livingston on Saturday afternoon.
Derek McInnes’ side were top of the table heading into Christmas, and Hearts will hope that history is in their favour, with only one team in the last 13 years not going on to win the league when in pole position.
