Rangers' hopes of reaching the Europa League knock-out stages were ended in Budapest as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Ferencvaros at the Groupama Arena.
Danny Rohl’s side required a win in the Hungarian capital to keep their European dreams alive, and got off to a perfect start when Bojan Miovski’s acrobatic finish put them into the lead after 27 minutes, only to be pegged back with the final kick of the first-half when slack defending allowed Bence Otvos to equalise, with Barnabás Varga’s 20th goal off the season ensured the home side took all three points.
The result means it is almost impossible for Rangers to qualify for the Europa League knockout stages, after picking up just one point from their six League Phase games. They sit in 33rd place in the table, with games against Ludogorets and Porto still to come. They return to domestic action on Monday with a clash against Hibs at Ibrox this coming Monday.
Here’s how The Scotsman rated the performance of each Rangers player in the 2-1 defeat to Ferencvaros at the Groupama Arena:

9. Djeidi Gassama - 4
Didn't offer much of an attacking threat, and switched off late in stoppage time to allow Cisse to cross for Otvos to equalise with the final kick of the half. A man off tonight, and taken off before the hour mark for Mikey Moore. A poor performance. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

10. Danilo - 5
Made some intelligent runs into the box for Rangers, and nabbed an assist for Miovski's finish. The Brazilian was ineffectual in the second-half, though. | AFP via Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

11. Bojan Miovski - 6
Opened the scoring with an acrobatic goal after an excellent Rangers break. Now has three goals in two games for the club, and is showing real signs of progress. The North Macedonian showed encouraging signs, but was off with injury late on in Budapest, which will be a worry for Rohl. | AFP via Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

12. Substitutes:
Mikey Moore - 5 (lost the ball to often) Dujon Sterling - 5 (just back from a long-term injury, so hard to judge). Yousef Chermiti/Thelo Aasgaard/Findlay Curtis - N/A (Late subs, no impact). | Getty Images
