Scorer of the winning goal in the 2-1 Women’s Euro 2022 final three years ago, the 27-year-old proved to be the difference maker for her nation for the second Women’s Euros in succession. Mariona Caldentey’s first-half opener had put Spain on course for the victory, but was cancelled out by Alessia Russo’s excellent header which took the game into extra-time, though the sides could not be separated.

One of the best attended and most watched tournaments in women’s football history, hosts Switzerland have welcomed over half-a-million people to the country in order to attend games throughout the competition, with a capacity crowd of 34,203 attending Sunday’s final at St. Jakob-Park.

The first England team - men or women - to win a major tournament on foreign soil, head coach Sarina Wiegman also secured her third successive Women’s Euros win following her successes with the Netherlands in 2017, and England in 2022.

Taking place in Switzerland for the first time this summer, the tournament has taken place across eight different stadiums, and saw 25,000 fans take part in a special fan march last week when the Swiss took on Spain the quarter-final of the competition. But where will the next major women’s tournaments take place, and which stadiums are the games going to be played at?
