Scotland's Nations League fixtures confirmed - with tasty Hampden clash lined up for September

Scotland’s Nations League fixtures and kick-off times have been confirmed by UEFA.

Scotland will open their Nations League campaign with a trip to Slovenia after UEFA confirmed the dates and kick-off times for the 2026/27 edition of the competition.

After Thursday night’s draw in Brussels, Scotland were placed in League B1 of the competition alongside Switzerland, Slovenia and North Macedonia - and head coach Steve Clarke and his side now know their exact schedule of games for this year’s tournament.

Relegated from League A after losing 3-1 on aggregate to Greece last year in the play-offs, Scotland will be aiming for promotion from League B, though they have been handed a tricky set of opponents.

“We knew whoever we got was going to be difficult,” said Clarke following Thursday’s draw. “The teams are all evenly matched. It has been a good competition for us, originally when we first qualified for Euro 2020 through the Nations League playoffs.

"We understand the benefits of it. We were in League A last time, unfortunately, lost out in the playoff to Greece, a very good Greek side. They managed to knock us down to League B, but we expect difficult matches."

Scotland’s first test will be against Bostjan Cesar’s Slovenia on Saturday, September 26, at 3pm local time, meaning the game will get under way at 2pm in Scotland.

Clarke’s side will then welcome Murat Yakin and his Switzerland side to Hampden Park just days later on Tuesday, September 29, with a re-run of their Euro 2024 clash scheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm in Mount Florida.
