Scotland will look to make World Cup history as they end their Group C campaign with a crucial clash against five-time champions Brazil at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, this Wednesday night (kick-off: 11pm UK time).
Looking to seal qualification to the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time in their history, Steve Clarke’s men suffered a blow to their hopes with a 1-0 defeat to Morocco last week. However, their opening game victory over Haiti means there’s still a pathway to the knockout of the competition for Scotland, with a result of any kind against Brazil likely to seal a place in the last 32. A narrow defeat could even be enough, if results go in their favour elsewhere.
As for their opponents, Brazil, they are already virtually guaranteed a spot in the next round with a draw and a win against Morocco and Haiti, respectively, although they’ll have designs on winning the game against Scotland to ensure they finish top of Group C. Though they have been handed some mixed injury news ahead of the game.
Ahead of the game at the Hard Rock Stadium, The Scotsman has all the latest team news:
