Scotland signed off the March international break with a 1-0 defeat by Ivory Coast at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Ivorians landed the victory in Liverpool thanks to a 12th-minute goal from Nicolas Pepe and then showed their defensive qualities to see out the win.
Scotland battled away but were unable to truly break down a well-organised side that is also heading to the World Cup, with goalkeeper Alban Lafont not tested sufficiently by the Scottish forward line.
It means Scotland have fired a blank twice in the past three days after Scotland lost 1-0 to Japan on Saturday at Hampden.
Scotland’s next matches will be against Curacao and then Bolivia before Scotland head to the World Cup and play Haiti, Morocco and Brazil in Group C of the tournament.
We give the Scotland players a mark out of ten for their performances against Ivory Coast.
9. Andy Robertson
The captain moved into outright second in the caps list with his 92nd appearance. In the city where he played his club football, Robertson was one of Scotland's better player. Was often the chief outlet in an attacking sense and perhaps all that was lacking was a killer final ball. Remains one of our most offensive players - even from left-back. 7 | Getty Images
10. George Hirst
The Ipswich striker continued from where he left off against Japan with an all-action display. Took the ball in well and was always prepared to drive forward and search for chances. The big issue was his finishing. While every chance was of the half variety, he didn't show much composure with his attempts. Came off towards the end. 6 | AFP via Getty Images
11. Che Adams
Gave Scotland an out-ball but there was little in the way of end product from the hard-working Torino striker. He was unfortunate that despite playing with two up front, Scotland struggled to create chances. Made way for Conway. 5 | PA
12. Scott Bain
Made an excellent save from Diallo towards the end of the match, plunging low to turn a fizzing effort past the post. It was his only moment of action - but a good one. 5 | PA
