Scotland’s near three-decade exile from the World Cup will finally come to an end this summer after securing qualification with an unforgettable 4-2 win over Denmark late last year.
While it was Scott McTominay who took the headlines for his jaw-dropping overhead kick to score the opener, Steve Clarke’s side had several heroes throughout their qualification campaign, with youngsters such as Lennon Miller and Ben Gannon-Doak also playing key roles in helping Scotland finally achieve their World Cup dream.
With several up-and-coming young Scottish talents now plying their trade at some of Europe’s biggest clubs, the Tartan Army are wondering who will be next to emerge from the youth set-up and lay their claim for inclusion in Scotland’s senior side.
Here are the 18 Scottish teenage talents we’re tipping to make an impact in 2026:

17. Keir McMeekin - Hearts
The midfielder is yet to make his senior bow at Tynecastle, but has already been poached by Champions League giants Manchester City. The Etihad club signed him on a pre-contract agreement earlier this month, beating off competition from Manchester United, Liverpool, and Brighton for his signature. One of Scotland's most highly-rated teenage talents, the 15-year-old has been compared to Scotland international Billy Gilmour in style and ability. | SNS Group

18. James Wilson - Hearts
The 18-year-old striker burst onto the scene at Tynecastle last year, scoring six goals and assisting a further three after being handed a first-team opportunity by former head coach Neil Critchley. Called up to Steve Clarke's Scotland squad shortly afterwards, it was a whirlwind introduction to senior football for the teenager. While he's had to be more patient this term at table topping Hearts, the youngster will be determined to play his part in the next 12 months. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
