'A scorer and provider of goals' - Hearts confirm third new signing as striker enters advanced talks

Winger joins from Premiership rivals after impressive 2025-26 campaign

Calvin Miller has finalised his move from Falkirk to Hearts in a six-figure transfer deal. He is the third summer signing at Tynecastle Park following Josh McPake and MJ Kamson-Kamara, with several more to follow. Hearts officials are working on deals to strengthen various positions across the squad for season 2026/27.

Miller, 28, completed a medical and put pen to paper on a three-year contract after Hearts and Falkirk agreed his move earlier this week. He scored nine goals and registered 11 assists this season as John McGlynn guided newly-promoted Falkirk to a top-six place in the William Hill Premiership. The winger’s contract there ran until 2027 and other clubs showed interest, but Hearts secured his signature for an undisclosed fee.

He will now report to Riccarton for pre-season training, and Hearts hope to have further new recruits in place to join him by then. French midfielder Tom Renaud is preparing to switch to Scotland after agreeing to continue his career in Gorgie. He will arrive from Versailles in France’s third tier, the Championnat National. Striker Amadou Ba-Sy, who plays in the same league with Rouen, is also edging nearer a €200,000 [£173,000] transfer to Hearts with talks now at an advanced stage.

Discussions between Hearts and York City over the English centre-back Malachi Fagan-Walcott are ongoing as things stand. Six figure offers from Tynecastle have been rejected so far, with York reluctant to sell their biggest asset. However, the 24-year-old is generating strong interest and City are now bracing themselves for his departure this summer.

Winger McPake agreed a pre-contract move from St Johnstone earlier this year, and defender Kamson-Kamara is heading to Edinburgh on freedom of contract from the English Championship newcomers Lincoln City. Hearts will pay Lincoln a six-figure sum in compensation for the 20-year-old’s four-year development there.

Hearts issued a statement confirming Miller’s imminent arrival. It read: “Heart of Midlothian is delighted to announce our latest signing of the summer transfer window; Calvin Miller. A scorer and provider of goals, Calvin will join the Jambos from Falkirk for an undisclosed fee, subject to Scottish FA approval, once the transfer window opens on June 15th. The winger has penned a three-year-deal and will pull on the maroon jersey until 2029.

“28-year-old Calvin gained experience both sides of the border before truly excelling at the Falkirk Stadium. A product of Celtic’s youth system, he made his professional debut in 2016 and would go on to make five top team appearances as well as spending time on loan at Dundee and Ayr United. He left Glasgow in 2020 and moved south to join Harrowgate Town before racking up appearances for Notts County and chesterfield.

“Calvin returned north in January 2023 for a short spell at Greenock Morton, and in July of that year signed for Falkirk. He was instrumental in the Bairns’ ascension to the top flight, winning League One in 23/24 and a place in the PFA Scotland League One Team of the Year.

“The following season he helped them secure back-to-back titles by lifting the Championship trophy and bagged more personal accolades with inclusion in the PFA Scotland Championship Team of the Year, as well as being crowned the SPFL Championship Player of the Year.

“Calvin’s mercurial form continued into season 2025/26, inspiring Falkirk to a top six finish with nine goals and 11 assists – the most in the entire Premiership. In total, Calvin’s creative spark has produced 32 goals and 37 assists for Falkirk in 132 games. And now, he’ll call Tynecastle Park his home as the Jambos get ready for a blockbuster campaign of domestic and European football.”
