Hamilton wear special France shirts in Paris tribute

HAMILTON Academical players have paid tribute to dozens of people killed in Paris earlier this month by wearing special France shirts against Aberdeen.

The Scottish Professional Football League granted the club permission to wear the one-off kits, emlazoned with a Saltire, the French Tricolour and a Hamilton club badge, for this afternoon’s match.

A potential colour clash between Hamilton’s red-and-white home top and the home and away tops of Aberdeen – red and white respectively – was also behind the move.

The strips will be sold to Ligue 1 clubs in a charity auction.

Last year, Hamilton Academical players showed their solidarity with the French after the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January as players wore t-shirts bearing the words: “Je suis Charlie”.
