As well as players coming into the league, there will be plenty of intrigue as to players who could depart in the coming weeks.
Already, key individuals throughout the top flight have been linked with moves away, everyone from Calvin Bassey to Calvin Ramsay.
As intriguing as the potential departures are themselves, the transfer fees that they may attract is also of interest with Scottish clubs keen to eke out every pound they can with clubs from elsewhere unable to steal Premiership stars as easily on the cheap as they were before.
Using Transfermarkt’s valuation of Scottish Premiership stars which is, admittedly, not nearly 100 per cent accurate, we look at who the league’s most expensive stars are.

9. 4. Connor Goldson - £7.2m - Rangers
The centre-back surprised many by signing a new long-term deal last week. He has rarely missed a game for the club over the past four seasons, playing more than 50 games per campaign. Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group

10. 3. Joe Aribo - £9m - Rangers
There is understood to be serious interest from England in the Nigerian international. A scorer of a Europa League final goal. Photo: Craig Williamson - SNS Group

11. 2. Alfredo Morelos - £11.7m - Rangers
The Colombian showed his importance to Rangers in the second half of the season, putting together a brilliant run of games before an injury ended his campaign early. Photo: Paul Devlin - SNS Group

12. 1. Ryan Kent - £12.6m - Rangers
Kent saved some of his best performances for the European stage. Scoring just three goals across the campaign is a surprise but he created goals and won penalties. Photo: Sammy Turner - SNS Group
