Celtic land 24y/o loan signing after chats with ex-Parkhead star - 'he congratulated me for this move'
Danish midfielder set to be first of several new arrivals ahead of transfer deadline
Celtic have confirmed the loan signing of Oliver Sorensen from Parma - with several other deals in the pipeline.
Danish midfielder Srensen becomes the fifth new recruit of the summer at Celtic following the arrivals of Camilo Duran, Kasper Hogh, Mika Baur and Hasseim Hassan. The season-long loan deal includes an option to buy.
The 24-year-old is the first of several additions Martin O’Neill’s side are expected to make this week ahead of Thursday’s 5pm Scottish transfer deadline and the Europa League squad deadline on Wednesday at 11pm.

“I feel lucky to be a part of this club now, and I hope the style of play can suit me,” Sorensen told Celtic club media.
“It's attacking football. They want to attack and they want to go forward. They want to push the opposing team down in their box. So, I hope I can contribute and help the team to do that.
“I love to attack, I love to run, I love to defend and I love to tackle, so I'm ready to give 100 per cent, and I can't wait to be at Celtic Park for the first time.”
Sorensen revealed that he spoke to former Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko about the move to Parkhead.
“I spoke to him and was messaging a bit, and he congratulated me for this move and wished me good luck,” he added. “I should call him in a few days to get all the good places to go and eat and all this stuff!”
Celtic manager O’Neill added: “Oliver is someone with really good experience, playing at a high level in both Italy and Denmark.
“He has great energy, he is able to move really well up and down the pitch with strength and can play in a number of positions across the midfield.
“We are looking forward to working with him and think he can be an important player for us.”
Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and 19-year-old PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joel van den Berg were also at Celtic’s Lennoxtown training ground on Tuesday finalising moves to the club.
Celtic are also close to agreeing a deal for Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis and a loan move for 18-year-old Chelsea forward Shim Mheuka, and are prioritising a left-back with the injured Kieran Tierney currently being covered by central defender Liam Scales.
