Celtic needed an injury-time equaliser from Diego Laxalt to snatch a point at Easter Road after falling two goals behind to Jack Ross’ side.
The visitors dominated the opening period but struggled to create chances with a Mohamed Elyounoussi header the only real clear-cut opportunity they had.
They were hit with a sucker punch after the break following a rash and clumsy challenge from Scott Brown on Martin Boyle. Kevin Nisbet had his penalty saved by Rangers loanee Jamie Murphy followed up the rebound.
From there Hibs were a consistent threat in attack, doubling the scoring through Nisbet a short-time later.
Celtic were able to rescue something after Paul McGinn was adjudged to have handled in the penalty box and substitute Odsonne Edouard tucked his spot-kick away. Laxalt then levelled the scores, firing into the roof of the net after a poor clearance from Paul Hanlon.

Had a good first half but was just as poor as Frimpong defensively after the break. Gave away a needless free-kick in the build up to the opener and didn't mark Nisbet closely enough at the second. Photo: Ross MacDonald - SNS Group

6. DM - Scott Brown - 5
Played well in the first half, but his moment of madness disadvantaged his own team more than any other Celtic mistake on the day with the concession of the penalty. His effectiveness soon evaporated and he was subbed. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group

7. MC - Callum McGregor - 6
Showed a good range of passing a little deeper in the midfield than the likes of Tom Rogic or Ryan Christie, but ultimately couldn't do enough when he did get into the final third. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group

8. AMR - Ryan Christie - 7
Showed bags of energy, which is incredible when you remember he's just played three times for Scotland in a week. Was Celtic's only consistent threat. Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group
