Dunhill draw throws up some tasty team pairings for Scottish professionals
Well-known Scot is one of just four amateurs set to tee up in all 25 editions of DP World Tour event
Ten Scots professionals taking part in the 25th edition of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship have been handed some interesting amateur partners in the team event.
As was the case when he became the first Scot in 20 years to win the main event 12 months ago, Bob MacIntyre is joining forces with American Brett Overman, CEO of National Disaster Solutions, which responds to catastrophic events around the world.
Grant Forrest, meanwhile, is partnering with Martin Gilbert, the co-founder of Aberdeen Asset Management and now chairman of Revolut, a global neobank and financial technology company.

Gilbert is one of just four amateurs teeing up this week who have played in all 25 editions, the other being the event’s supremo Johann Rupert and his wife Gaynor, as well as Sir Steve Redgrave.
In contrast, Cameron Adam is making his debut, with the DP World Tour rookie teaming up with Mark Darbon, The R&A’s CEO, which is a nice pairing given that Adam secured his card this season through a Global Amateur Pathway.
Calum Hill, the leading Scot in this year’s Race to Dubai, has been paired with Seth Waugh, the PGA of America’s former CEO, while David Law will be playing alongside Will Ahmed, founder and CEO of Whoop, used by Rory McIlroy among others to monitor health and fitness patterns.
Euan Walker will be out with Sandra Tuddenham, chairman of St Andrews Links Trust, with Jim Davidson, an Aberdeen-born entrepreneur who now lives in California, partnering Daniel Young.
Connor Syme, meanwhile, is linking up with and Oliver Baker, Sir Michael Bonallack’s grandson and a trustee of the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation, while Nexo Championship winner Scott Jamieson has Duncan Simpson-Craib, a South African-based Scot who is making his 20th appearance, as his partner.
Tartan Pro Tour Michael Stewart, who secured a late invitation, will be out with Hannah Heerema, a philanthropist and wine producer and also the daughter of Scottish singer Fiona Kennedy.
Other star pairings include Lee Westwood making his return to the event with singer Ronan Keating; Piers Morgan teaming up with Matthew Jordan and Dragons Den panelist Peter Jones playing with James Morrison.
MacIntyre starts his title defence at Carnoustie on Thursday before heading to Kingsbarns on Friday then St Andrews on Saturday.
Admission is free on the first three days, with admission by ticket only for Sunday’s final round at St Andrews.
