Dalmahoy to stage new Qualifying School for Middle East-based golf tour
Ten players will secure exemption into 12 events on MENA Tour for 2026/27 season
Scottish golfers - both amateur and professional - have been handed a chance to be teeing up on the MENA Golf Tour next season.
It follows the announcement that a new Qualifying School for the circuit, which is based in the Middle East and North Africa, will be held at Dalmahoy Golf & Country Club on 1-2 October.
The event will feature a maximum of 76 players, with the top-ten finishers after 36 holes earning Category 3 status, which will provide exemption into all 12 tournaments on the MENA Golf Tour's 2026/27 schedule, each carrying a $100,000 prize fund.

Players finishing 11th to tied 20th will secure the highest possible category of MENA Golf Tour card, meaning up to 20 players at each venue can earn Tour status and earn a chance to follow in Chris Wood’s footsteps after the former Ryder Cup player topped last season’s Order of Merit.
Similar Qualifying Schools will be held at Slammer & Squire at World Golf Village in Florida from 13-15 October and Royal Automobile Club's Woodcote Park in Epsom from 20-21 October.
Keith Waters, the circuit’s chairman and commissioner, said: "Bringing in new Qualifying School venues alongside our debut Q School event in the US marks another significant milestone in how the MENA Golf Tour continues to develop.
“Together, these additions demonstrate just how far our footprint now extends beyond the MENA region itself. But, at its core, this is really about creating opportunity. Our goal is to give talented players a straightforward route onto the MENA Golf Tour and, from there, the chance to progress further in professional golf."
Dalmahoy has ‘proud golfing heritage’
Dalmahoy's renowned East Course hosted the 1992 Solheim Cup, while other events held there over the years include the Scottish PGA Championship, the Scottish Senior Open and the European Men's Amateur Championship.
Craig Waddle, Director of Golf at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club, said: "The club has a proud golfing heritage and we have always believed in supporting the game at every level, so it is exciting to play a part in the next chapter of a Tour that is creating genuine opportunities for aspiring professionals.
“Q School is a hugely-important moment in any player’s career, and we want Dalmahoy to provide a memorable and suitably challenging stage for that opportunity."
