About Clarity Healthcare’s Edinburgh eye hospital
With waiting lists for cataract treatments stretching to two years on the NHS private treatment is an increasingly popular option for those whose eye-checks have identified issues –with cataract removal being one of the most common procedures. But Clarity’s new Edinburgh hospital offers prospective patients more than just the option for faster treatment.
Exceptional ophthalmology consultations and advanced cataract surgery are offered at this modern private hospital, set within The Stones Business Park, just outside Edinburgh.
Offering a welcoming, comfortable and accessible environment, with plenty of parking and the option of chauffeur-driven patient transport, Clarity is committed to giving patients truly personalised care from the team, carried out with state-of-the-art equipment in brand new modern operating theatres.
Modern cataract surgery is life-changing
Whilst cataract removal and treatment is fairly routine these days, advances in modern technology can offer patients far more – indeed they may never have to wear glasses again.
Andrew Gunn, hospital manager, explained. “Whilst the NHS will provide monofocal lenses, our consultants have the option of using the latest lenses which will be specific to the patient’s needs and lifestyle choices.”
Whether you’re a pilot or a golfer, a keen reader or sports fanatic, there are many reasons why never wearing glasses again could be a life-enhancing option – it may just be to give your confidence a boost.
And with treatments starting from £2,000 per eye, and surgery appointments within two weeks, Clarity offers both a fast and competitively priced option for private cataract surgery.

Treatment you can trust
Clarity in Edinburgh is already getting rave reviews from its patients. John Bayne, gave it five stars on Google saying: “I’ve just completed cataract surgery at Clarity Healthcare. Operations were two weeks apart and in both cases my vision was perfect in under 24-hours from the procedure. Everyone in the team is friendly, helpful and professional. I could not recommend them any higher.”
Vision changes are not just an age thing
Whilst our eyesight generally deteriorates after the age of around 60, there can be many factors including general health, illnesses and lifestyle choices, which can affect your vision at any age.
Regular health checks are important, and for most patients a check up at the opticians, or occasionally with the GP, is the time when any anomalies or eye changes are picked up.
