Luxury glamping pods in East Lothian: Escape the city with a countryside break and reconnect with nature

If you’re craving peace and space, then countryside glamping with views of the Lammermuir Hills is a perfect solution.
Jerusalem Farm Pods gives you everything you need for a peaceful break, away from all the stress you don’t need.
If you need relaxation and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, they’re the perfect escape.
If you want a quiet, child-free zone, where birdsong is the only distraction, Jerusalem Farm Pods are adult-only and pet-free.
Nicola Hyde is the host of Jerusalem Farm Pods which are situated on the farm which has been worked by three generations of her family over the last 90 years.
Now it is home to four pods, named Lammer Law, Soutra, Tyne and Traprain –each one referencing a local landmark– and thereby grounding the pods in the wider landscape that surrounds the farm.

Designed to give you everything you need
Nicola spent her childhood on the farm and moved away in her early twenties only to find the pull to return became stronger as she got older, returning to the farm six years ago.
It is now, she says, her perfect place.
I made a huge decision to move back. Once I got back here I realised just how much better I felt away from all the stresses and strains of my normal life. I had fresh air, open space around me and nature on my doorstep. And that’s when the concept of pods and glamping came into being.
Don’t let the word “pod” fool you - these welcoming spaces which sleep two adults are cleverly designed to give you everything you need without overcomplicating things.
Each one includes:
· A private shower room
· A Queen size bed
· High-speed WiFi
· A television
· Kitchen essentials like an induction hob, toaster, pots, and pans
· Heating for colder months and a fan for summer
· All the little extras - right down to a hairdryer
And if you want to sit outside in the cooler evening air – and perhaps toast some marshmallows – then you can book a fire pit to enhance your experience.

Just 35 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh
The pods are surrounded by communal grass areas and a 35-acre field in front of the pods has grass margins all the way leading to a tranquil riverside seating area.
There is also an on-site car parking area and a five-bike rack for guests to use.
Says Nicola: “Our guests can use their pods either as a base or as a destination. We’re about 35 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh – so if peace and quiet away from the city is what they need, then they’ll certainly find it here, soaking up the views of the Lammermuir Hills in the distance.
“Then again, there is so much to explore nearby, making a pod the perfect base for daily excursions.”
The nearest town is Haddington, just a 10-minute drive away – a market town with the hustle and bustle of shops, restaurants and cafes as well as a monthly farmers’ market.
And beyond that, there are stunning beaches, championship golf courses, ruined castles, water sports, and hill walking - all within 20 minutes’ drive of the pods.
The pod was lovely and had everything we needed. “It was very comfortable and cosy. Nicola was very welcoming and the location was fab with beautiful views. An ideal location for relaxing.

How to book a Jerusalem Farm Pod
Pods can be booked for a two-night minimum stay - with some guests extending their visits for several days to chill down, relax, and to make the most of the area.
They are also a good option for larger groups wanting to stay together - as with four pods, there’s the potential for eight guests.
And with several wedding venues nearby, Nicola believes that Jerusalem Farm Pods are a great base for attending guests.
Each pod is priced from £115 a night, with a 3pm check-in, and an 11am check-out.
