RANGERS captain Lee McCulloch will miss his side’s home tie with Hibernian at Ibrox on Friday night after the Scottish FA decided to uphold his two-match ban for stamping on an opponent.

McCulloch was offered the ban retrospectively, for an incident involving Raith Rovers on-loan striker Dale Carrick during the Scottish Cup clash between the two sides last weekend.

As the two players challenged for the ball, McCulloch appeared to stamp on the young forward, but was not cautioned during the match.

And the 36-year-old was offered the two-game suspension earlier this week, and confirmed he would contest the decision in front of Hampden top brass yesterday.

But the Scottish FA took the decision to uphold the ban, which sees McCulloch miss the key clash with Hibs, and the next tie he plays in the Scottish Cup.
