Metallica Glasgow: All of the road closures in place for Metallica at Hampden Park
There are a number of road closures and restrictions in place around Hampden for Metallica’s Glasgow gig.
Metallica will soon take over Glasgow, with their huge M72 concert tour coming to Hampden Park.
Following TRNSMT last weekend, the legendary metal band will be joined by Gojira and Knocked Loose for the highly anticipated gig which will draw out tens of thousands of fans to the stadium.
There will be additional public transport services in place for the show, especially as many of the roads around Hampden will be closed or have restrictions in place to help accommodate crowds.
Here is everything you need to know about road closures for Metallica in Glasgow.
Metallica Glasgow road closures
Gates will open for Metallica at Hampden Park at 4pm, with the gig due to end before curfew at 11pm.
To give tens and thousands of fans the chance to enter and exit the stadium in an orderly fashion, there are a number of road closures and restrictions in place around the area which will be enforced by Glasgow City Council.
From 6pm on Wednesday, June 24 until midnight on Thursday, June 25, there will restrictions prohibiting waiting, loading and unloading on the following roads:
- Calder Street between Polmadie Road and Aitkenhead Road
- Polmadie Road between Aitkenhead Road and Siding Lane
- Polmadie Street between Aitkenhead Road and Polmadie Street
- Jessie Street for its full length
Between 10am and midnight on Thursday, June 25, there are restrictions covering waiting, loading, unloading and vehicle movement on:
- Prospecthill Drive for its full length
- Hanningshaw Place for its full length
- Sommerville Drive for its full length
- Letherby Drive between Carmunock Road and Hampden Stadium

There will be no waiting, loading or unloading or vehicle movements allowed between 1pm on and midnight on Thursday, June 25 affecting:
- Prospecthill Drive for its full length
- Hanningshaw Place for its full length
- Bolivar Lane for its full length
- Bolivar Terrace between Stanmore Road and Sommerville Drive
- Lindores Street between Cumming Drive and Sommerville Dr
- Kinghorn Drive between Mount Annan Drive and Hampden Park
Further road restrictions will be in place from 7pm on Thursday, June 25, until 1am on Friday, June 26 which cover:
- Cathkinview Road for its full length
- Clincart Road for its full length
- Bolton Drive for its full length
- Florida Street for its full length
- Florida Drive for its full length
- McLennan Street for its full length
The council advise that those attending plan ahead for the shows, especially considering there is likely to be traffic following the performances.
