Campaigners from Stand Up To Racism gathered for a counter-protest to the Unite the Clans Scotland anti-immigration protest in Glasgow.

Anti-racism campaigners gathered at Glasgow Green this morning to counter an anti-immigration meeting organised by the ‘Unite the Clans.’

Dozens of police officers are in attendance in the city centre in an attempt to keep the groups separated and “minimise disruption”.

Pictures from the scene show police clashing with the anti-immigration protesters as well as campaigners from the counter-demonstration holding Stand Up To Racism placards.

A police officer was also seen holding back a demonstrator with his face covered, after objects were thrown towards the Stand Up to Racism counter-protest.

A video shot by The Scotsman’s John Devlin also shows members from the Green Brigade, a Celtic F.C fan group, being contained inside in the park.
