Cocktail bar close to Edinburgh Playhouse to launch £10 drinks menu
A bar and restaurant near The Playhouse in Edinburgh is set to launch a new take on a happy hour.
1802 Lounge & Grill, located at the top of Leith Walk, is launching a brand-new drinks concept this June: The 1802 Hour.
Designed as a stylish alternative to the traditional happy hour, The 1802 Hour invites guests to slow down, settle in and enjoy cocktails served with complimentary bar snacks and a relaxed atmosphere in the heart of the city.
Launching officially on Monday 2 June, The 1802 Hour will take place every Monday to Thursday from 6:02pm, with a rotating Cocktail of the Moment available for £10 alongside complimentary bar snacks.
To celebrate the launch, 1802 Lounge & Grill will host a special launch event on Friday 19 June from 6:02pm, featuring live music, cocktails and the first opportunity to experience the concept.

Situated just steps from Edinburgh Playhouse, The 1802 Hour has been created with theatre-goers, city workers, hotel guests and locals alike in mind, offering a setting for pre-show drinks, post-work catch-ups or a relaxed start to the evening.
“We wanted to create something that felt like a special way to either end the work day or start the evening,” said Liana Rae, marketing manager.
“The 1802 Hour is about creating a ritual rather than simply offering a discount. It's a chance to enjoy great ever-changing cocktails, good company and a welcoming atmosphere in one of Edinburgh's most vibrant locations.
“Our lounge has a sort of members-club feel to it which just lends itself perfectly to after-work and pre-show drinks, the outdoor terrace is also just a brilliant place to watch the world go by with a cocktail in hand."
The launch forms part of a wider programme of events and experiences planned for 1802 Lounge & Grill throughout 2026, as the venue continues to establish itself as a destination for cocktails, dining and social occasions in Edinburgh's city centre.
