Sainsbury’s is offering 25% off more than 600 Taste the Difference products, and some can be frozen now to help spread the cost of Christmas.

Sainsbury’s shoppers with a big freezer could get a head start on Christmas food – and save money in the process.

The supermarket is currently offering Nectar customers 25% off more than 600 Taste the Difference products, with the promotion running until Tuesday, October 6.

And while Christmas may still feel some way off, shoppers with plenty of freezer space could use the offer to get some festive favourites sorted early.

Several products included in the promotion can be frozen after purchase and used within a specified period, meaning some could potentially be bought now and saved for Christmas or New Year celebrations.

One option is the 30 Days Matured British Beef Roasting Joint. The approximately 1.4kg joint is currently £19.84 with Nectar, reduced from £26.45.

Sainsbury’s says the beef should be frozen as soon as possible after purchase and within its use-by date, then consumed within three months.

For smaller households, there’s also an Aberdeen Angus Roasting Joint. The 550g joint is £7.50 with Nectar rather than £10.

The British Aberdeen Angus beef is dry aged on the bone for 14 days and comes with a bone marrow and thyme jus. It can also be frozen and consumed within three months.

Christmas party hosts could also stock up on the Mini Pies & Vol-au-Vent Sharing Selection, which is currently £15 with Nectar, down from £20.

The 48-piece selection serves 24 people and includes mini beef, Dorset ale and mature Cheddar pies, chicken and ham hock pies, as well as smoked salmon, caramelised onion and Cheddar, and Cheddar and smoked bacon vol-au-vents.

Sainsbury’s storage guidance says the selection should be frozen as soon as possible after purchase and within its use-by date, then eaten within three months.

And there’s an option for dessert, too.

It serves six and combines brioche, butter, Madagascan vanilla double cream custard and flame raisins. The pudding can be frozen within its use-by date and consumed within six months, potentially allowing shoppers to enjoy it well into 2027.

For anyone planning to host family or friends over Christmas, buying some suitable food during the current promotion could help spread the cost of the festive season instead of leaving everything until December.

However, shoppers should always check individual packaging and storage instructions before freezing food.

The 25% Nectar offer covers more than 600 selected Taste the Difference products until October 6, although prices, availability and individual Nectar offers can vary.
