Milngavie is a charming and affluent suburb of Glasgow, situated just seven miles from the city centre in East Dunbartonshire and is home to many outstanding buildings.

One such property is The Meadows, on South Glassford Street, which its current owners believe was built by Barr and Stroud, optical engineering pioneers who owned country houses north of the town, as a wedding gift for a family member's daughter.

The dining room has a south-facing window while a bar/snug has lots of windows and a custom-built granite-top bar. Janice, who has enjoyed entertaining family and friends at the home, adds: “On first entering the house, I fell in love with the large hallway and fireplace. My favourite room in the house is the snug where the views and sunsets are wonderful."
