Minister jailed over shipping deal
A UKRAINIAN court has imprisoned an ally of opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, who was herself jailed last year in a case that affected diplomatic relations.
Valery Ivashchenko, who served as acting defence minister, was sentenced to five years for abusing his powers in privatising a Black Sea ship repair facility.
