Huge World Cup fan zone planned for Edinburgh with big screen, live hosts and competitions
A massive 1,000 seater World Cup Fanzone has been announced for Edinburgh’s Gyle Shopping Centre.
Fans will have the opportunity to watch this summer’s FIFA World Cup at The Gyle Shopping Centre, where a 1,000 seater fan zone will be set up between June 11 and July 19. Fans will also be able to take part in competitions, with live hosts also set to get the crowds going,
Fans will be able to take in all three of Scotland’s Group C games at the fan zone and, with fixtures taking place overnight in North America, organisers have also introduced family-friendly daytime replay screenings.
The purpose-built fan zone will host up to 1,000 supporters per screening - making it one of the largest public viewing destinations for World Cup matches in the city. Organisers estimate as many as 20,000 visitors will attend throughout the fan zone’s run.
Fans can expect licensed bars and food vendors, deck chair seating and covered viewing areas as well as special guests for Scotland games.

The venue will screen all Scotland matches, alongside the majority of tournament fixtures, ensuring supporters have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the World Cup with fellow fans.
Early bird tickets are on sale now, starting from £10 including a pint or soft drink.
Anticipation is high for Scotland fans who will watch their national team at a men’s World Cup for the first time since 1998. Steve Clarke’s men kick off their campaign against Haiti on June 14 at the Gillette Stadium, before taking on Morocco on June 19 and Brazil in Miami on June 24.
Fans will be hoping that Scotland can extend their stay at the World Cup for the first time, with as many as three teams qualifying from each group - depending on third-place ranking.
