LABOUR has outlined “40 days and 40 ways” to change Britain – a policy for each day in the run-up to the general election.

Douglas Alexander, chairman of Labour’s election strategy, said the choice on 7 May was between a “failing plan and a better plan for working people”.

He was visiting the Ealing Central and Acton constituency in London with Labour’s candidate Rupa Huq.

The shadow foreign secretary added: “Labour knows that we only succeed as a country when working families succeed and over the next 40 days we’ll be campaigning hard to take this message to Britain’s homes, communities and workplaces, setting out our better plan. Unlike the Tories, who think this is as good as it gets, Labour believes we can do better.”

Mr Alexander’s visit was part of a weekend of campaigning during which the party said it would be speak to 100,000 people and deliver 600,000 leaflets.
