Paramedic injured in Glasgow firework blast
A PARAMEDIC was injured when an object believed to be a firework exploded outside his rapid response vehicle.
Police condemned the “reckless” behaviour, which led to the driver being treated for a suspected ear injury.
The incident happened at about 8:30pm in Butterbiggins Road, Govanhill, Glasgow, Strathclyde Police said.
The paramedic drove to the depot, on the same road, before going to hospital.
Detective Constable Fiona McIlloney said: “There is no excuse for this type of reckless behaviour which has left a paramedic injured.
“This road can often be busy with vehicles. There is a bus depot as well as an ambulance depot. I am appealing to anyone who was in the area or who may have any knowledge of the incident to get in touch with police.”
